All things, whether living or inanimate, vibrate to a certain frequency. These electromagnetic vibrations oscillate at different wave frequencies and produce sound and colour in the visible range of the spectrum. Reiki has been researched by Dr Robert Becker and Dr John Zimmerman during the 1980s in the US via investigations into what occurred when practitioners practised reiki on their clients. It was found that the bio-magnetic energy of the person giving the healing was 1000 times greater than normal, and not as a result of body current. The person giving the healing was in complete harmony with the brainwaves of the person receiving it. The research showed that the healing pulsing through the hands was in the same frequency as brain waves and the various frequencies stimulated different types of tissue in the body towards healing.
Spiritual Healing and Reiki are forms of hands-on healing, although the healing can be effected by working a few inches above the physical body rather than contact healing if that is the person’s preference.
Reiki uses sacred symbols to access the healing energy, and Usui Reiki can use tapping, blowing, as well as the hands on element. The attunement process is via a trained Reiki Master-Teacher.
In spiritual healing the attunement process is direct from the practitioner, rather than through a Reiki Master Teacher. There are no sacred symbols used by the practitioner to access the healing energy.
Both these forms of healing go through a similar process of administering from the therapist and also work on the emotional and mental aspect of the self, as well as the physical.
